Before You Hit the Highway

Get Your Permits

Inner Line Permit (ILP) is required. Get it from the DC Office, Manali. Also carry vehicle RC, insurance, driving licence, and photo ID for all checkposts.

Fuel Planning

Last fuel at Tandi/Keylong. No pumps between there and Leh (~350km). Carry an extra 10–15L jerry can.

Check Road Status

Roads close due to rain, landslides, and snow. Check BRO road status at +91-1800-180-3100 or lahaul-spiti.nic.in before departure.

Connectivity

BSNL works in some areas. Jio/Airtel lose signal after Rohtang. Carry an offline map (Maps.me or Google Maps offline area).
