The story of The Yunam Adventure begins on a storm-battered night at Sarchu, where our founder — a lifelong Himalayan trekker and Manali local — found himself stranded with a group of bikers who had no proper shelter. That night, huddled in a makeshift tent, the vision was born: Sarchu deserves a camp worthy of the epic journey that brings travellers here.
Named after the Yunam River — a pristine glacial stream that flows through the high-altitude plateau — our camp was established with one guiding principle: every traveller arriving at Sarchu, exhausted from the high passes and mountain roads, should feel genuinely welcomed, safe, and comfortable.
Over a decade later, The Yunam Adventure has grown into Sarchu's most trusted camping destination. We've hosted thousands of motorcyclists, self-drive families, trekkers, international tourists, and armchair adventurers who dared to make the legendary Manali–Leh journey. Our Swiss Cottage tents — a category we helped pioneer at Sarchu — have become the gold standard for high-altitude camping comfort on this route.
